Spider-Man Leaving MCU: In a stunning flip of events, Marvel Studios can no longer be attached to the production of Spider-Man Movies. President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has withdrawn from creating future Spider-Man films allegedly due to disputes between Sony and Marvel‘s parent company Disney over sharing the revenue from movies starring the cyber-slinging hero.
A Sony spokesperson person confirmed the news a short while ago. The studio said it was “disappointed” that Feige would no longer act as lead producer of Spider-Man films.
“Much of today’s news regarding Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions regarding Kevin Feige’s involvement within the franchise. We are discomfited, but a respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a leader producer of our next live action Spider-Man film,” in a remark received solely from The Hollywood Reporter, the spokesman said.

However, sources told Deadline that the deal allegedly ended after the two sides failed in order to reach an agreement which could have given Marvel a future co-financing stake. According to the Deadline, Sony rebuffed a Disney offer to “be a 50/50 co-financing agreement between the studios for future Spider-Man films.”

The sources added that Sony, led by Tom Rothman and Tony Vinciquerra, came back with other configurations, but Disney didn’t want to do that.
Spider-Man was one amongst the largest additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel Studios and Sony first agreed on a deal over Spider-Man in 2015, which allowed becoming part of the hugely popular MCU, Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. Sony, nevertheless, preserved the character rights and was responsible for financing, distributing, and “final creative control.”

Tom Holland originates his debut because the wall-crawler in MCU in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and went on to recapitulate his role in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, apart from two successful standalone films- Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home, that mostly received widespread critical acclaim at the box office and became the largest-grossing all-time film by Sony.

Needless to mention, Marvel fans are heartbroken about Peter Parker possibly aka Spider-Man Leaving MCU. Many are having hassles imagining Spider-Man films in the absence of that MCU association.
